We had chosen Fowey as our stopover yesterday as I know it has a Honwave main distributer there and I desparately want to get the dinghy fixed..First thing I made a temporary repair using gorilla tape. and motored the mile upstream to Mixtow Marine.They had originally said that they would be able to mend it, but then decided they couldn’t as they didn’t have enough time. So I bought a repair kit and off I went.
As we had done 30hrs of sailing in 2 days We thought we would take it easier today so treated ourselves to breakfast in town at Brown Sugar Cafe.
And then on to Falmouth via the fuel station. A fairly uneventful 5 hour journey both Sailing and motor sailing.
Both our phones were ringing as we tried to dock, the girls having spotted us arriving. It was all excitement and bustle as we tied up, the girls arriving on the dock having got through the security gate. Russell and I trying to do all the things you need to at the end of a journey. “Do we want to go for a coffee?”, “can we get the kit on board.” , “where should we park the car.”, All too much ,too quick.
Coffee and a catch up it was.
Takeaway pizza for lunch and then bed. It’s another long passage to the Scilly’s
